The dual-cells RO cross flow rig was designed internally and built by an external sub-contractor for the "Polymers for Isoporous and Functional Membranes" project, a collaborative project between the Membrane Centre and the CRC for Polymers.
The rig is set up with two complete and independent reverse osmosis crossflow cells. Based on the requirement of test, a single membrane or two membranes can be tested at the same time to provide a range of comparative experiments. The rig also has the provision for bio-fouling experiments by injection bacteria into feed via dosing valve.
