Research Interests:

The project seeks to develop strategies for improving the performance of membrane applied to wastewater reuse. The project has a special emphasis on fouling control and energy reduction. Two distinct areas are being studied:

• To examine the use of hollow fiber microfiltration (MF) membrane for wastewater reuse and identify conditions for energy saving, fouling control and cost minimization;
• Life cycle assessment of microfiltration process at different operating conditions; To develop and optimize novel Electro-spacer technology to provide in-situ cleaning and bubble generation to enhance performance in wastewater (and possibly other) applications.
