Research Project Summary:

The Cooperative Research Centre or Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO₂CRC) is developing technologies and systems to capture CO₂ from a range of emissions and store that CO₂ in a secure geological or mineral environment for many years. The CO₂CRC researches technologies that are likely to have a significant impact on current levels of CO₂ emission, particularly from large-scale stationary sources. The technologies used must be environmentally sustainable, socially acceptable and economically feasible.

The aim of this project is researching the optimisation of CO₂ source-sink combinations for carbon capture and storage (CCS). Using the existing CCS economic model and integrate it with a network model to examine least cost solutions for capture technologies as well as source-sink matches.
